A totally un-important and useless movie about dogs fighting cats in order to save mankind.
I never enjoy watching real animals being exploited in movies. However, in this movie even the puppets and the CG-animals annoyed me.
The movie is very childish and it gives cats a very bad reputation.
The video transfer is good. There are no compression signs at all, but the combination of live animals, puppets and CG-animals simply doesn`t work.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are used occasionally for some sound effects, but nothing too explosive. The disk also contains DD 5.1 soundtracks in Spanish and Hebrew.
The menus are animated with sound (you can choose from 2 sets of menus).
Notice that the disk has 2 region codings: 1 and 2 (although the package says it is only region 2).
The extras include a commentary, 2 behind the scenes featurettes, some storyboards and some DVD-ROM features (galleries, alternate ending, screen savers and an interactive photo feature).
Bottom line - a rather bad movie, but an ok disk. You decide. Miau.

I enjoyed this, good family fun, and a break from all seriousness. Cats Vs Dogs the old rivals, yes it makes cats out to be the bad guys ....but they are! They make mugs of us in day to day life, and the film has it spot on. There are some great effects, some puppets, and of course the real thing (at times it is hard to determine which is which) My only gripe is that it does drag on a bit, but it`s only a small gripe! The visual is excellent, pretty crisp with lots of colour. Sound is decent, no complaints. Extras are well worth a mention, there`s a great menu, which you can decide who`s `side` you want to be on to continue. Commentary, special effects featurette, `first look` featurette, storyboards and a few others.
Overall this a good family flick, which the kids will love, and the parents will warm to. Good fun.
