Review of BBC Great Comedy Moments
Introduction
This is an eclectic mix of some of what the BBC class as the greatest comedy moments. I say BBC as I do believe most, if not all, are taken from BBC comedy programmes.
Ronnie Barker sets up the scene and you can then relax and watch in full or select your favourites sketches.
Video
Video is mixed affair as all the various sketches vary in age. This is digital TV quality at best with only a small amount of digital artefacts in some of the older grainier sketches.
Audio
Dolby Digital mono is clear and suffers only minor distortion in the older scenes.
Features
Just the ability to select you favourite scenes. This could be pre-programmed on some DVD players to let you cut out some of the not-so-great comedy moments, oh yes there are some!
Conclusion
This disc contains some of my all time favourites but seems to fall flat on newer alternative comedy. There`s a bit of Blackadder and One foot in the grave but where`s The Young Ones or Harry Enfield. Maybe there will be a volume two.
