Synopsis:
Michael Faraday (Jeff Bridges) and his 10-year-old son, Grant (Spencer Clark) are both trying to come to terms with the loss two years earlier of Michael`s wife, Grant`s mother.

When they befriend a family from across the road, things seem to get a little better for them. However, as the families become closer, Michael starts having misgivings about Oliver and Cheryl Lang (Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack), and begins investigating them. He soon realises that the Langs are definitely not who they claim to be.

The film is a tense political and psychological thriller, with Michael uncovering more and more about the seemingly innocent family living opposite him in Arlington Road.

Gripping film. Powerful, shocking ending. Thumbs up. Good quality, shame about the lack of extras

I agree with the first 2 staff reviews when they say "good film, bad DVD". This is one of those discs that you either hate because there are no extras or love because of the film.

Content :- I really liked this film. I was expecting it to be a something else and was surprised by how tense and scary it was for this type of film. The ending was brilliant and I didnt really see it coming (others might).

Video :- A pretty good transfer, anamorphic and all. It looked nice enough.

Audio :- As far as I can remember it was pretty good on the limited system that I have.

Features :- uh, none. This didnt really bother me as I liked the film quite alot but it might annoy other people.

Overall :- I found this a surprisingly good film and didnt care about the extras so I was pleased. Then again I am pleased easily.

PS :- I read the staff review by "Ade Taylor" and I found it to be really bad. He was complaining the Jeff Bridges girlfriend`s nose was too big and that there was blurring when you pressed pause. I think there should be some kind of test for reviewers on this site cos that review was stupid and really picky and gave away the twist. So dont read it, its not worth it.

I purchassed this DVD by mistake (dont ask!) and it has turned out to be one of my fave movies.

The DVD has a good transfer, although their is no extras on this DVD which is a shame as this would have been a great bonus to a great movie.

I purchassed the DVD for £19.99 when it was first released way back when, however I have seen it on the shelves for £8.99 in recent months so it is well worth buying if you can find it under £15.00.

Oh yeah, Great acting too from all the cast that make the movie what it is :o)

Certainly a strange film, pretty bleak too, rises above the ordinary, but not by much , average presentation
