Synopsis:
Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) & Anjali (Kajol) become close friends during their years at college. When Tina joins the college Rahul begins to take a liking to her, while Anjali develops romantic feelings for Rahul. Tina impressed by the sweetness of Rahul begins to go out with him, and when Rahul decides to propose to Tina, he tells Anjali, who is unaware that she loves him.

Becoming broken hearted Anjali leaves college to join her mother, and Rahul never sees her again. Rahul and Tina marry each other and have a young baby, which they name Anjali. But the labour caused fatal problems for Tina who passes away.

Rahul, now feeling an empty void in his life, fills it up by displaying his love for his young daughter and his ageing mother. Eight years pass and his young child feels the pain of her father yearning for love. Learning about his college life and his best friend Anjali she decides to get them together. Will the young Anjali succeed?
