Synopsis:
Veer Singh is a man striving to make it big in the city. With his mother, wife and two children he ventures off from the rural grounds of Punjab to the urban skyscrapers of Mumbai. After many years of hard work and sacrifice, Veer Singh (Dara Singh) has made it big in the city. Ranvir (Sunny Deol), his older and responsible son, now runs his business. Ranvir loves his younger brother Rajvir (Bobby Deol) despite his ultra modern views. Rajvir is a young energetic guy who loves life and women and occasionally goes back to peaceful Punjab to escape from the urban life.

Studying at college Rajvir is very popular and attracts the attention of Shalini (Urmila) who is very shy and has grown up with traditional Indian values, yet she would like to be open and free like Rajvir. Eventually Shalini and Rajvir start to hang around with each other becoming closer. Shalini take this for love while for Rajvir sees her as another one of his friends. However, Shalini is caught one night sneaking back home by her strict parents, after she`d been seeing Rajvir. They decide to get her married off before it`s too late.

Ranvir, who saw Shalini a couple of times, can`t stop thinking about her. When word gets around to his grandmother and father about his feelings they find out about Shalini and ask her parents if they are willing to allow her to marry Ranvir. The parents agree but Shalini asks Ranvir to break up this marriage proposal, as she loves another. Ranvir, who is now heartbroken, doesn`t realise that Shalini is in love with Rajvir.

Shalini persuades her parents to see Rajvir and they reluctantly agree to have a discussion with him about marriage. However Shalini learns that Rajvir isn`t interested in being married to her and when she persuades him, he insults her in front of everyone at college. Shalini becomes heartbroken, but the film doesn`t end there as something happens to Shalini, Rajvir and Ranvir, which will teach them the real value of love...
