Review of Sleeping With The Enemy
Introduction
Sleeping with the enemy is one of those movies you just can`t help watching every time it`s on TV.
It`s one of those brainless late 80s early 90s style movies that has a basic plot layout and a fabulously over the top final act. This shines above the other lesser movies of the past decade by having a great leading lady and an equally nasty, hittable antagonist.
Video
Picture is widescreen, 1:85:1 anamorphic and not very good, I`ve seen better versions on TV.
There is an overall grain and the odd film blemish appears from time to time. Digital artefacts are a plenty specially in darker scenes where blacks are very dull. The overall colour scheme is also very muted. This strikes me as another rushed Julia Roberts movie put out to cash in on her Erin Brockevich, Oscar success.
Audio
A harsh and lifeless picture has a 2.0 soundtrack to match.
Features
Not a lot. Just a theatrical Trailer.
Conclusion
I like the movie but this disc is probably the worst I`ve seen. I don`t know the RRP on this disc but I wouldn`t pay over a fiver for it as it`s not much better than the video and that`s only £4.99 in my local HMV.
