Easily Better than "Silence of the Lambs` and don`t let anyone tell you otherwise...

There`s an old saying ``If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it.``

Why is Hollywood remaking one of the most unnerving serial killer films in history? This film was never recognised at the box office, although I`m pleased to say that it has become a cult film.

Although I would have liked the Director`s Cut, this disc is still worth owning.

Hannibal Lecktor- coz that is the way it is spelt played a lot better by Brian Cox than the over the top pudding -Sir Tony Of Hopkins.
The film ,however, was a wee bit Miami Vice- I guess that was because of the era it was made in.
What was Francis Dollarhyde all about!
Unfortunately as yet I do not own a copy of this on DVD

Content

A classic cult film that can be compared in quality to Silence of the Lambs

Video

Very nicely cleaned up for quite an old film

Audio

Also nicely done and brings to life the very 80`s soundtrack

Features

The Documentaries aren`t bad but the rest is PR stuff. Micheal Mann is a brillient director and a commentary would have been very nice. However the book that comes with the DVD is very interesting and informative.

Overall

Good film, good transfer but the extras still need some work

Very good, it was odd to see the original `red dragon` I must admit that the casting for those days was pretty special.

The audio was good, especially the DVD, The effects were good.

What more can i say? it was just good
