Your Opinions and Comments
Roberts delivers several very well written lines.
The video transfers is good. While there are no compression signs at all, several of the desert scenes are a bit out of focus (or deliberately blurred).
The DTS and DD 5.1 soundtracks are both very good. The surrounds are mainly (and brilliantly) used for ricochets sounds.
The menus are all animated with sound.
The extras include a commentary, a behind the scenes look, 9 deleted scenes and some production notes.
Bottom line - an ok movie as long as you don`t expect it to shine due to its cast. Worth the watch.
First, Pitt and Roberts are rarely together in this movie. This is the story of sad sack Jerry and his girlfriend, the less-than-understanding Sarah. A sudden car accident places Jerry right into the middle of the mob, running errands for a crime boss whom he unwittingly helped put in jail.
Right off the bat, Jerry is sent on a mission to get a pistol called "The Mexican" from the crime boss` grandson, who is somewhere in Mexico. Sarah is then kidnapped in order to make sure that Jerry does the dirty deed right. For the rest of the movie, Jerry is suffering a series of mishaps in Mexico, while Sarah lives it up with her kidnapper in Las Vegas.
I`d love to comment on the chemistry between the two, but it only seems to last for ten minutes of the movie, so there`s not much to judge. It`s not such a great love story in that respect, but the events surrounding Jerry`s Mexico trip are funny without being too slapstick.
I gave the movie a 7, because I like both the stars. It would be nice to see them do a movie together some day.
