Synopsis:
Is it possible for one idea to change the world?
Just imagine. You do a favour that really helps someone and tell him or her not to pay it back, but to pay it forward to three other people who, in turn each pay it forward to three more - and on and on into a global outpouring of kindness and decency. Impossible? Junior high student Trevor McKinney won`t accept that.

Haley Joel Osment plays Trevor, who starts a chain reaction of goodness for his social studies project in this bittersweet and uplifting tale directed by Mimi Leder (Deep Impact), based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde and also starring Academy Award winners Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt. How much impact can one heartfelt idea have? Do yourself a favor and find out: see Pay It Forward.

"Pay It Forward" is a movie about the natural human notion of doing a good thing for someone else. As simple as that. Now - it seems that basic an idea cannot support 2 hours of a movie. Well, it can, and it does. Beautifully.
The cast includes the always annoying Osment (who doesn`t perform that well here), Spacey (always classic) and Hunt (who gives a superb performance).
The video transfer is good. There are no compression signs and the transfer is usually clean of any defects.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. there`s a lot of dialog in the movie, so the surrounds are barely used, but hey - it`s acceptable.
The menus are static with music.
The extras include a commentary by the director and a behind the scenes featurette.
Bottom line - a really good well thought of drama. Recommended.
