A very `nice` film indeed. Definitely one to watch with the wife/girlfriend (husband/girlfriend) and a nice bottle of wine on a dank and dreary evening.

Content: The film is nothing too deep, but nonetheless is entertaining with some highly amusing moments.

Video: No noticeable dropouts, nice anamorphic display, very crisp.

Audio: I`ve dropped this down one since my original posting, since I`ve only listened to it on a 2 speaker setup :( perhaps someone with a nice 5.1 setup might like to comment on sound.

Features: Usual Extra language soundtrack, some very scant PC based info on the cast/crew/nottinghill.

A wonderful British film for all generations of film fans to enjoy and savour. The performances delivered from all the diverse characters as part of the story was a sheer delight. A memorable film that is funny, warm, charming and is excellent entertainment. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are well matched and give a sincere performance. All the remaining cast are funny, caring and give a convincing performance as supportive friends and family to round off the story line to an excellent film. The location shots of Notting Hill W11 are well placed as the backdrop to the story and the area should receive fame and fortune for many years to come, I am sure.

This is a highly entertaining film with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant giving a superb performance. An excellent British comedy/farse on a par with "Four weddings and a funeral" and also "Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels". A "must see" film for Londoners.

Knowing the Notting Hill area certainly added to my enjoyment of the film. The DVD also includes an interesting Travel Guide for those who might wish to visit the area one Saturday. This is an excellent feature idea.

I would question the Dolby Surround sound quality. For most of the firm there appeared to be just one signal from the centre speaker with no output from the other speakers. This is why I am marking down the audio quality. However, this did not spoil my enjoyment of the film.

Video quality was crisp and clear with good colour balance. Picture in letterbox format only.

A great film, and a nice disc, only spoilt by the fact the R1 version has a nice selection of extra features and we get cast & crew bios, production notes and a trailer. Oh! Sorry, I forgot the couple of pages that is the "Travel Guide to Notting Hill" - a very poor effort considering the R1 extras.

Apart from that small gripe, this film is a very witty British comedy, with a good video transfer and nice audio soundtrack. but I'm still bitter about the extras!!
