Synopsis:
It is no secret that Cuban music is hotter than ever. Paving the way for such acts as Buena Vista Social Club, Afro-Cuban All Stars and Ruben Gonzalez was Gloria Estefan. Four years before Buena Vista released its self-titled classic, Gloria dropped Mi Tierra, a Cuban-roots album that became a platinum best-seller throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Gloria Estefan highlighted her Cuban musical heritage with the release of her last album `Alma Caribena`, which featured songs based not only on Cuban music idioms but also the infectious genres from other parts of Latin America.
