Bad Girls is the best drama series currently on TV. I`ve been a fan of this show since I saw the first series back in 1999. All 10 episodes from series one are presented uncut and on four discs. The picture quality is broacast standard and I could see no faults. The sound quality is similiar. Nothing to fault. The best part of the DVD is the extras. All the extras are on disc 4 which contains episode 10: Love Hurts. There is a commentary from the lead writer and co-creator of the series where they explain how the show was started and talk about the characters. There is a 15 minute featurette, Bad Girls In Oxford, which goes behind-the-scenes of the show and features interviews with crew members and some amusing oments with some of the main stars.

There is 45 minutes of interviews with much of the main cast including Simone Lahib ( Helen Stewart ), Mandana Jones ( Nicki Wade ), Debra Stephenson ( Shell Dockley ), Jack Ellis ( Jim Fenner ), Alicia Eyo ( Denny Blood ), Victoria Alcock and Kika Mirylees ( the two Julies ) and Helen Fraser ( Sylvia Hollamby ).All the interviews are fairly in-depth and there are some amusing anecdotes. Next is a 3 minute featurette about a signing session with Simone, Mandana and Helen.
There is also 8 minutes of outtakes which are prsented by Simone. Finally, there is a photo gallery.

Overall, a great DVD for a great series. The first series establishes the characters and their surroundings brilliantly. Although I think the second and third series are even better, this first series is still very very good. The DVD is essential for Bad Girls fans such as myself especially for the extras.
It`s also highly recommended for non-fans too.
