Synopsis:
The year is 2047. Years earlier, the pioneering research vessel Event Horizon vanished without a trace. Now a signal from it has been detected, and the United States Aerospace Command responds. Hurtling toward the signal`s source are a fearless captain (Laurence Fishburne), his elite crew and the lost ship`s designer (Sam Neill).
Their mission: find and salvage the state-of-the-art spacecraft. What they find is state-of-the-art interstellar terror. What they must salvage are their own lives, because someone or something is ready to ensnare them in a new dimension of unimaginable fear. Co-starring Kathleen Quinlan.

Your Opinions and Comments
The video transfer is good. There are no compression signs and the dark scenes are nicely rendered. The CG is mostly very good, with the exception of the rather lame artificial water (and other liquids).
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are almost constantly used and the sub gets a hell of a workout.
The menus are still and silent.
The disk offers no extras at all.
Bottom line - while the plot could`ve been a bit clearer (especially by supplying some background material about the evil entity), it`s still a nice sci-fi thriller. Too bad the disk sucks.

Over 3 years have passed since I first watched this movie.
Watching it for the second time around actually made it less coherent.
Who are the characters? Where do they come from? What keeps them going? And what is the evil entity?
Having asked all these questions, I can only conclude and take the content`s rating from 8 to 7, thus the overall rating drops from 7 to 6.
