Synopsis:
Art Jeffries (Bruce Willis), a renegade FBI agent, combats ruthless Federal agents to protect Simon, a nine-year-old autistic boy, who has cracked the government`s new `unbreakable` code.

He can read Mercury, the most advanced encryption code, as easily as other kids read English. This ability renders the new billion-dollar secret code vunerable, especially if enemies of the United States should learn of Simon`s abilities and capture him.

Program Chief Nick Kudrow (Alec Baldwin) orders the "security threat" eliminated, but Kudrow hasn`t counted on Jeffries getting involved. As they are trailed by deadly assassins, Jeffries quickly realizes that no one can be trusted. Now time is running out and he discovers his only hope of survival is using Simon`s special ability to bring their adversaries to justice.

Your Opinions and Comments

7 / 10
A so-called thriller that is neither thrilling, nor particularly interesting.
Willis is doing his usual job of semi-acting. Hughes is rather annoying (probably due to his precise portray of an autistic kid) and Baldwin is nowhere to be seen.
The video transfer is ok. Nothing amazing, but ok. There are no compression signs and the special effects are simple, yet convincing.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are used frequently and the LFE channel is very active. The disk boasts an impressive collection of 7 audio tracks in various European languages - very rare for a movie which is not an animated feature.
The menus are all still.
The extras include a commentary, a 30 minute behind the scenes look, some deleted scenes, a photo gallery and some production notes.
Bottom line - a rather boring thriller that does not deliver the goods. Sorry.

Bruce Willis = Good Guy * Alec Balwin = Bad Guy + sentiment with Kid = Predicable thriller
