Your Opinions and Comments
Starting with the beautiful Dreamworks "kid on the moon" logo, the music kicks in (by using horns and trumpets) and the totally psychedelic opening scene introduces us to the legend of El Dorado. We then meet our 2 heroes (or should I say "cons"?) and the story is on its way.
The video transfer is excellent. There are no compression signs at all and the picture is oozing detail. The colors are extremely saturated in the opening scene (really cool, by the way) but later on the color level is just right (notice just how great looking the gold is).
There are many CG effects in the movie, but the overall feel of a 2D animation movie still exists.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good as well. The surrounds are used frequently, mainly for ambiance, but also for split surround effects.
The disk also contains dubbed version in German and Dutch (both in DD 5.1).
The music is really nice and the songs fit the movie perfectly.
The menus are still with music.
The extras include a commentary, a nice behind the scenes look, storyboards with explanations and a music video.
Bottom line - a great looking movie with superb animation and great sound. Recommended.
