Synopsis:
A box-office hit, this heart-rending drama features child star Janette Scott in her breakthrough role as a young girl struggling to cope with the trauma and divided loyalties arising from her parents' divorce and ensuing custody battle. No Place for Jennifer is written by Oscar nominee J. Lee-Thompson and presented here in a brand-new transfer from the original film elements in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio.

When her parents' marriage breaks up, Jennifer is torn between the love she has for both of them. Sickened and weary after a court case, the accompanying scandal and the remarriage of both parents, the troubled young girl runs away – a desperate act, but one that might just offer her a chance to find the happiness and security she has never known.

There is a scene in it that was very unusual for a film made over seventy years ago or even one made today, where 10 years old Jennifer, having run away from the divorce court in the afternoon where her parents are getting divorced, wanders around the streets of London well into the night and, riding on a tube train, she is approached by an elderly man in his sixties who, asking her what what's she doing out so late at night, tells her she's a lovely little girl and offers her a sweet. Scared, she gets off at the next station and he follows after her. She hides in a bombed out building and he almost finds her, but a policeman walking his beat sees him and asks him what he's doing and scares him off. By the way, I long ago changed my email address, but can't find a way to upload my present email address on here. So anyone sending me a message should know that I will not receive it at the email address I registered with ten years ago.
