This is my favourite trek of all. I saw this four times at the cinema. Watching it again on dvd the movie looked better than it did in the cinema.on a entertainment level only wrath of Khan and first contact come close to this. the f/x is better than usual.the cast have fun with a great script and christopher plummer is a excellent villan. the picture quality is
superb.the sound is 5.1 and truly excellent quality.the only letdown is the lack of extras.though i did receive 3 game demos in a collectors box. If you love star trek this is a must buy.when a movie is this good you dont need extras

This is with out doubt the best original Trek film. Kirk and crew save our bacon once again. If you are into Trek then this is a must. The only down side is that for some strange reason the transfer is not anamorphic (the only region 2 Trek film so far to suffer from this), as with other Trek films the extras are limited. The sound quality is excellent, and the disc is supplied in a limited box with a games sampler.

If you can cope with the non-anamorphic transfer then buy this disc.
