Synopsis:
They`ve got the weapons. They`ve got the posses. And they`ve got no chance against former Hong Kong cop Han Sing.

Gravity-warping martial arts, cool visual effects and an all-star music track combine in this revved-up action movie from producer Joel Silver (The Matrix) and starring Jet Li (Lethal Weapon 4) in his first English-language lead role.

Li plays rough-and-ready Han, who shares an attraction with Trish O`Day (screen-debuting songstress Aaliyah) even though their families are rivals in a fierce Oakland turf battle. The two also share plenty of danger as they try to find the real cause of the blood feud. No gun, no posse? No problem. With Jet Li going to war as only he can, Romeo Must Die is alive and kicking.

I`ve already wrote a review of this over in the R1 reviews but felt compelled to write one for the R2 release if only to increase it`s score and take it off the lowest rated R2 discs as compiled by this website. It`s really not a BAD movie, no worse than most Hollywood actions movies anyway. It looks good, it`s easy to follow and Jet Li is the coolest action star around at the moment. The thing is, Jet deserves a better movie than this and his talents are wasted in it. If Jet wasn`t in it this movie really would be rubbish, but thanks to him he makes it watchable and entertaining - in a six-pack and couple of spliffs kinda way.

I found this a very entertaining, in places original movie with some pretty amazing stuff.
The story isn`t up to much however and the characters are a bit two dimensional.
Good added value (they include some shots cut from the film by the BBFC) with some in depth documentaries into the making of the stunts in particular.
This film is a Jet Li vehicle but a good one.

OK, not a great film - but pretty good! The DVD version does the format justice, with fantastic visuals and sound, plus those extras to keep the interest going.

At it`s current cheap price (£10?) it`s an essential addition to your library!

This is not the greatest of films… Jet Li's later efforts with Kiss of the Dragon (excellent) and The One (pretty good) were much better. However, this is still worth watching, especially as it seems to be offer everywhere!

The problem is that Jet Li films should contain one thing - lots of action. And the action in this film is very good… there's just not a great deal of it (especially as a precious 30 seconds of it was cut in order to get the 15 certificate).

Overall, not a great film, but worth a look nonetheless.

A decent attempt to make an action flick but unfortunately theres just not enough action. Of whatever action is there, its very good, top class martial arts. But there was just not enough. The movie drags on with its plot too long and the plot wasnt even that good.

Picture and sound are truely gorgeous, especially during the fight scenes. Some small signs of unsharpness and grain but not much wrong.
Fantastic extras include music videos and plenty of documentaries
Get it if u can get it cheap otherwise rent it for a good night in
