Having recently been watching the latest episodes of Stargate SG1 on Sky, I decided to get the motion picture to remind me how it all began. I saw that there was a special edition released so I ordered it. On the dvd are two versions of the movie, one being the theatrical version and the special edition version which contains an extra nine minutes of footage. The other additions are production notes, cast and crew information, commentary from Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin and a journey through the Stargate when loading the disc. The special edition version is good to watch with the sound being enhanced only. The extra ten paged trivia booklet included tells you about how the movie was made and "who made the pyramids?" chapter. The region 1 disc is a lot better than the region 2 disc which only contains the movie and thats it. If you liked the film or the series then you`ll like this dvd version.
