For four years, the courageous crew of the NSEA Protector - Commander Peter Quincy Taggart (Tim Allen), Lt. Tawny Madison (Sigourney Weaver) and Dr. Lazarus (Alan Rickman) set off on thrilling and often dangerous missions in space… and then their series was canceled!

Now, twenty years later, aliens under attack have mistaken the Galaxy Quest television transmissions for "historical documents" and beamed up the crew of has-been actors to save the universe. A damn funny (and more clever than I thought) film brought seamlessly onto DVD. Damn good video, spectacular at times. Audio is also pretty sweet and there are a few extras, but nothing too fancy. Worth buying.

For Galaxy Quest I give appraisal. Here is a comedy taking the mockery of modern sci-fi shows like Star Trek (even though im a trekkie!) The wonderful mix of actors ranging from Sigourney weaver to Alan Rickman make this a pleasure to watch in general. The disc is generally good but lacks space for extras the "On location in space" for 30 min is a guide to behind the film and worth watching. The deleted scenes are a pleasure to watch also but Dreamworks could have done better.
