Synopsis:
A superb ensemble cast falls in for action in Stanley Kubrick`s brilliant saga about the Vietnam War and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers.

Joker, Animal Mother, Gomer, Eightball, Cowboy and more - all are plunged into a boot-camp hell pitbulled by a leatherlung D.I. who views the would-be devil dogs as grunts, maggots or something less. The Action is savage, the story unsparing, the dialogue spiked with scathing humor. Full Metal Jacket, from its rigors of basic training to its nightmare of combat in Hue City, scores a cinematic direct hit.

Stanley Kubrick`s Full Metal Jacket is an incredible movie that takes us through the process of boot camp and the Vietnam War. With interesting charcacters such as Joker, Eightball, and Cowboy, this film succeeds in being both serious and funny at the same time.

The first half of the movie takes place at boot camp where the men are treated as maggots rather then human beings. One of the characters, Pile, is mistreated the most because he is overwieght and isn`t as quick and strong as everybody else. After hard training, the soldiers are finally ready to go to battle. They are ready to use their skills they learned from boot camp. But are they ready?

The video looks fine throughout the movie. Not great special effects but looks good enough.

Sounds really good with bullets, tanks, yelling, and especially the great soundtrack.

Unfortunately, not much time was spent on the special features of Full Metal Jacket. Options are limited to basically nothing but a theatrical trailer and scene access.

Overall this is a very good movie. I love the comedy that is mixed in with the boot camp and the war. The movie can change tones from hilarious to eerie in a split second. Very good movie with a great plotline and good character development.
