Review for WWE Bragging Rights 2010
Bragging Rights used to be a PPV where the Smackdown vs. Raw game would be played out. It was a chance for the top stars of Smackdown to take on the top stars of Raw and see who is best. This year only two matches reflect this, the rest of the time it was just business as usual. However, this was a pretty good PPV with three main event calibre matches.
Champion vs. Champion Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler
Is it just me or has Vicky Guerrero gotten hotter in the past year? Probably is. This was a great match. Not as good as the past few by Daniel Bryan, but certainly proves that to be the IC or US champion you do have to be good in the ring.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
"Dashing" Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre vs. John Cena & David Otunga
You know this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The two teams worked well together and though it was short lived, I kind of liked the team of Cena and Otunga. Still not exactly the best of tag team wrestling though.
Goldust vs. Ted Dibiase
It's odd that the DVD doesn't say this match is on here as it's actually pretty good and any excuse to watch Maryse is a good enough reason for me.
Divas Championship Match
Lay-Cool vs, Natalya
Mess. Next! No, seriously, how many times do I have to keep saying that before someone realises that no one is interested in the Divas division. The match was awful.
Buried Alive Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Kane vs. Undertaker
A great match. They have had better, but as an end to this feud (though we all know this feud will never end) it was great and I'm surprised that WWE actually went ahead and was as extreme with this match as it's something that has been sorely missed from the recent product.
SmackDown vs. Raw 7 on 7 Tag Team Elimination Match
Team Raw (The Miz, Sheamus, CM Punk, John Morrison, R-Truth, Ezekiel Jackson & Santino Marella) vs. Team SmackDown (Big Show, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio & Tyler Reks)
I honestly thought this would be overbooked to the oblivion, but it was actually a great well thought out and exciting match. What was great is that it had that old skool feel of there being people I liked on both sides. CM Punk and Edge are great in this match and everyone gets in a few shining moments (even Santino???) Odd that they didn't end the PPV with this as it was a great feel-good moment.
WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett (with John Cena)
A great match. It is surprising how good Wade Barrett is at such an early stage in his career. His interactions with Cena were perfect and the whole set up of the match was well played. I still don't buy Orton as a face, but still a good match overall and a great way to end the PPV.
Bragging Rights 2010 was a pretty PPV overall. If you took out the Divas match there is nothing here that is totally unwatchable and even the tag match was good for a change. This was a great improvement for the WWE and hopefully that continues into 2011.
