Review for Billy Connolly : Live in London 2010

8 / 10

I have probably said this before, but Billy Connolly is a God as far as I'm concerned. When they do polls of Greatest Stand-Ups, in my opinion they should just put Connolly at Number One and then work their way down. In this live concert from London he proves again that he is the best and the funniest thing about this is that I have no memory of anything he said. I recall a hilarious joke about a midget and a story I had heard before involving a Scotsman wanting a thistle tattooed on his back, but the rest of this concert is a blur.

At points throughout the concert he namechecks cities and countries for the audience to whoop and cheer. He comments that he should just come out and read an atlas and is surprised that when he mentions the Incas 'What none in tonight?' Of course he probably could go out and read an atlas and it would still be great.

The only disappointing thing about this disk is the lack of extras. The addition of an interview or behind the scenes would have been nice, but nothing is given. Because of this, it's really difficult to recommend this DVD, however as Connolly has never included extras on his disks fans of his work will not be surprised by this. And if you are a fan of his work, this is still a pretty good show to watch.
