Review of New World Disorder

Introduction

This movie is mad. It contains images of people who really have taken the gray matter out of their heads and flushed it away.

Basically this is a collection of short `films` that show what an individual or group of people can do to their bodies by riding a mountain bike in the places it was designed to go (and some it wasn`t). Mountains and forests.

All this is set to a soundtrack that is a mixture of rock, indie and dance music that, I believe the expression is, rocks!

The action isn`t totally wheel based though as the sequences are broken up with what can only be descibed as weird little scenes such as nuns with shotguns stealing a bike frame and a drunk on a gold painted bike.

Strange.

The action isn`t only 2 wheel based either. There is an amazing bit of a guy on/in an off road wheelchair! Outstanding. As for the bloke with a unicycle messing around on cliff faces and forests with big trees, the men in white coats are on their way!

Video

Full screen, but what a full screen. The movie looks like it was filmed in sunny America and not so sunny Canada as the colours are so bright.

The reds and oranges of the mountains are really superbly represented, while scenes on the waterfront at what looks like a location in Canada are close but are missing some of the clarity and depth of the others.

Audio

Dolby surround but it does it`s job well. there is no worth while dialogue as such, the main audio being taken up with the soundtrack.

Turn up loud and listen.

Features

Special features are basically the usual scene selection and a preview of a forthcoming release.

Conclusion

I enjoyed this movie, although I`m not sure of how many times I would watch it. The picture is excellent and the soundtrack is good also, but maybe it just appeals to my tastes.

What can I say, if you`re into mountain biking or off road activities you`ll probably enjoy this title. If you`re not the only section of interest will probably be the crash section. Ouch.

Good buy.
