This is an excellent dvd, with tons and tons of extras. The video is extremely good (you can tell this was created directly from the digital source) and the D.D.5.1 sound is very good aswell. The menus are done really well with a good use music and visuals. There are at least 4 easter eggs on the second disc which can be easily found. All in all an excellent dvd for kids and adults alike. Now the bad part! For some reason the first disc has compatability problems with these dvd players -
Samsung 511, 709
JVC 515/503
PANASONIC
LG 3000/3500
ALBA
PIONEER 737
TOSHIBA 3109
ATSUI
MINOTA
these problems range from subtitles appearing for no reason and cannot be turn off, the picture changing different ratios etc. Play 247 will not give refunds on this disc if you have one of the players above. My dvd was played on the Samsung 709 and I encounted these problems, but finding about these problems on the web, I`ve learned that upgrading my firmware to the latest version solves this. It does spoil a great dvd and hopefully Disney may correct this for the region 2 version.

Just a short note to say:
a) low on story, but more than makes up for it when you spend the whole movie gaping at the effects - it still flows and does the usual disney heart-string tugs!
b) this is THE version to get with the DTS track - the UK DD track has all the bass reduced so the carnosaur chase, meteor strike etc are robbed of their gravity. watching the UK version it was just kinda cool, the DTS track elevated it into near-scary territory. fun fun fun

as to the extras... unbelievable. EVERYTHING!!! best of all the intro to the second disc`s menus follows the carnosaur chase at the beginning, slowly stripping back layers of effects, overlay and live footage before it reaches the menu, a very effective demonstration of how much work goes into such a scene and a good convincer to show why "making of" discs are a great thing

so yer... perfect apart from the weak story, so an 8 for that :)
