Review for NBA Street Series: Dunks! Volume 1

7 / 10

Is there any sweeter sight than a slam dunk? I know I can't do it and so to watch these guys do it so effortlessly makes me a little envious. I wish that I could do something as cool looking as this. At less than an hour, I start to get the feeling that the NBA Street Series should really be a double pack to make it worth the money as though this is a fun disk to watch, it doesn't feel like it is worth the money.

The documentary goes through the history of the dunk and the different types of dunkers from the high flyers to windmill 360s and also the Jordan launch from the foul line which some consider the best dunk of all time. Watching it here, it's hard to argue.

Special features include a Top Ten Most Posterizing Dunks. No I didn't know what that meant either when I read it, but it basically means when they show it slowed down and I got to admit it does look cool. Though these (including the famous Dunk Contest between Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins from 1985) do add some value to the set, at just under an hour it would have been nice to have had more action and footage to make this a slam dunk of a disk.
