Synopsis:
Based on Marc Durin-Valois' prize winning novel Chamelle, Sounds Of Sand is an enthralling tale of the life-and-death struggle of an African family traversing a hostile desert in search of water.
Forced to flee their desert village due to severe drought and the threat of war, Rahne (Isaka Sawadogo), his wife Mouna (Carole Karemera) and their three children head off on an unknown quest for water and safety.
With only a handful of sheep and a few goats, Sawadogo, the only literate villager, chooses to travel in the opposite direction to his fellow migrants, and the family are faced with a treacherous and uncertain journey in the fierce relentless sun in the hope of survival.
Sounds Of Sound displays a harrowing account of a family attempting to survive in turbulent and aggressive surroundings.
