A very weird movie and quite difficult to review. I personally don`t like movies that happen in the same room all-movie-long. This one does. Sort of, at least.
The video transfer is just so-so. There are at least a dozen places where compression signs are vividly seen. Blacks aren`t blacks and the picture is grained. Other than that, there are a couple of scratches and dust particles here and there. The same applies for both the 1.85:1 and the 4:3 versions. This is kind of surprising, since this is a new movie.
Despite the below average transfer, the movie includes some brilliant editing. It also includes a very nice (and usually unused) feature where the story is told from the storyteller point of view and the listeners are then combined in the story itself. Extremely interesting.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good. The great editing mentioned above is accompanied by a very rich sound mix. The surrounds are used quite often and the sub woofer is not neglected either.
The menus are all static and dull.
The extras include a boring commentary by the director and lead actor and a behind the scenes look. Nothing special here.
Bottom line - a rather boring movie that simply does not deliver the goods, but shines occasionally due to its excellent editing.
