The is a vastly underated film, it really should get the recognition it deserves as two and a half hours of really good entertainment.
This film is at least worth a rent but doesn`t have the `watch time and time again` tag on it.

A good look a like of Braveheart. Although a good story which fits in with the historical background. Mel Gibson gets on your nerves after a while but the English captain is extremely good in what he does. Oh well not a big hit but a fine picture none the less.

Laughable, did the british really do that, no go back and read the history books. Most insults last only a few seconds, this one manages to go on for hours...

If you can get passed the inaccuracy of this movie, I think you will find it interesting. Mel Gibson stars in a similar role to that of Braveheart, this time with lesser effect. He plays a yank who is forced by the british to go into war with them. Jason Isaacs is great as a villain, a guy you`d love to kill.

The film lasts 2h 30m but the time seems to move along quite fluently. The movie is wonderfully presented on dvd. The picture is sharp and clean despite the movie being so long and having quite a few extras on the disc. The sound also really good.

The extras were very interesting and were presented by director roland emmerich. The focus on the making of, costume design and other such aspects. There are also some deleted scenes. One wonders how all this was fitted onto one single sided disc with no apparent drop in quality.

Overall a very good film, that although is not as good as Braveheart and maybe historically inaccurate, provides interesting entertainment. I think it is worth owning if you can get it cheap although it doesnt have that much of a rewatchability rating
