Synopsis:
Psst! Did you hear about Beau and Naomi? Everyone who`s anyone on campus is in the know. But what almost no one knows is that the vicious rumor is a hoax. Three journalism students planted the trashy little story, planning to track how it changes as it burns through the university. But what goes around comes around.

Alluring young talents - James Marsden (The X-Men), Lena Headey (Onegin), Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints) and Kate Hudson (200 Cigarettes) among them - team with screen veterans Edward James Olmos, Sharon Lawrence and Eric Bogosian in this hip, twist-filled thriller. This is really a weird movie.
It starts up as your usual college (crap) drama, but takes a couple of turns that make it more tolerable. It has a decent enough plot with at least a couple of twists.
The video transfer is good. There are no compression marks at all and the colors are very good. Some scenes (the gossip one especially) are brilliantly shot and edited. The disk also includes a good pan&scan version of the movie.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is ok. Naturally, you don`t expect the audio of this kind of a movie to blow your mind off, but the audio is very suitable for the movie. Notice the nice whispering effect every once in a while.
The menus are all still and boring.
The extras include a commentary, some deleted scenes (alternate ending as well), some behind the scenes look and 2 music videos.
Bottom line - well, try it, watch it, talk about it.
