Synopsis:
A prolific filmmaker, having made sixteen films in the past thirteen years, Michael Winterbottom's dark and unnerving debut feature film Butterfly Kiss was a gunshot heard throughout the film world, announcing the arrival of a stunning new artist to the
scene. The film received rave reviews upon its release, firmly establishing Winterbottom's intense visual style and compelling use of popular music to reinforce narrative.
Psychopathic drifter Eunice searches the motorways of the north for a mysterious woman named Judith, leaving a trail of corpses in her wake. Arriving at the next service station she meets Miriam, the slow-witted, drab attendant behind the counter.
The pair are strangely drawn to each other and that night Eunice strips to reveal chains, piercings and tattoos, seduces her new companion then takes off again.
Miriam, now infatuated, gives chase and finds herself a willing accomplice in a journey of sleazy sex and increasingly bloody carnage.
