Your Opinions and Comments

I'm glad to see more and more classic TV shows being re-mastered to Blu-Ray.Star Trek has been done well here. The images have not been cropped top and bottom unlike the Thunderbirds series. However the special effects have been redone which looks smooth and impressive. The viewer has the choice to see the original effect shot as it was shot or the redone version. This is how it should be.One can also flick back and forward to see the difference.I'm glad about 2 things,Like most U.S TV shows they were shot on 35mm film which has more than 4x the resolution of even Blu-Ray.So all those classics can have their original negs scanned to whatever new system comes out.Unlike Dr Who which was shot on analog 1 inch videotape and looked dated even on DVD.
I think that shooting TV shows today on HD is a big mistake,in 10 years they will look as dated as Dr Who from the 70s.
