There was a DVD sale on one of the Internet stores here in Israel and I found "The Prince Of Egypt" for 26 US$. I was certain this is the DD 5.1 version but was thrilled when I saw it is a DTS one.

I can only add that the sound quality of the DTS version is nothing short of incredible, perfect, splendid, divine. Honest. 1509 kbps of the purest sounds.
Upon watching the movie for the 2nd time (now in DTS, though) I realized that Ofra Haza (a very loved Israeli singer who died of AIDS recently) sings throughout the movie (and not just on the 2nd scene, as I thought before). Although I was never a fan of her music, her voice is simply superb, touching and very emotional. You can take a glimpse of her during the presentation of the multi-language song.
The last 30 seconds of the movie are simply incredible, music-wise. Play it at full volume and listen to the horns pan from the right surround to the left surround to the LFE and back again. Amazing.
Do take the time and listen to the commentary. It is really brilliant.
Don`t wait for an online sale to get this movie. Buy it now. It`s a real pearl.
Whilst the picture suffers from occasional colour blocking,the transfer remains rock solid and thoroughly impressive throughout,showing off the sumptuous animation superbly-and lending the cgi sequences that extra touch of sparkle that vhs can only dream of.Ive already mentioned the sound,but the highlight simply has to be the Red Sea sequence(try watching from chapter 25 onwards!)-strap down the cat,inform the neighbours,and just wait for the sonic blast that follows!the low end in particular is trouser flappingly deep,and the seperation between the 5 channels is a work of genius,with the awesome hans zimmer score piling on the already awesome av heap.
You may have gathered by now that i rather like this disc,and thoroughly recommend that if you have a dts system,you just have to try this.Am i the only one who thinks the uk gets the bum deal on dts?if you have any comments let everyone know-Gladiator and chicken run is not enough!Til next time.....
