Synopsis:
For Chris Neilson (Robin Williams), his love for his wife Annie (Annabella Sciorra) is limitless.
After his untimely death, Chris delights in the knowledge that heaven for him is existing within one of Annie`s magnificent paintings. Yet despite this paradise, Chris feels unfulfilled without his wife, and on earth Annie cannot endure life without Chris so she attempts to join him.
Chris is advised of Annie`s death but there is no hope of them being reunited `as suicides go to hell`. Undeterred, he enlists the wisdom of The Tracker (Max Von Sydow) and Albert (Cuba Gooding Jnr.), embarking on an epic odyssey through heaven and hell to free Annie.

The story deals with the oldest question in the book - life after death. It approaches this complex issue with enormous grace and with an incredible level of detail.
Robin Williams is at his best in this movie,and the rest of the cast are also doing a great job.
The video transfer is incredible. Most of the movie`s appeal (though not all of it) lies within its picture-like visuals. The visual effects are stunning and are mostly picture-driven (an effect mixing 2D and 3D which is explained in the extras).
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good. The surrounds are used in a way that gives the viewer the feeling he/she IS inside the drawing. The musical score is also very nice.
The menus are animated and feel as if they are part of the movie. Notice that there is a set of 2 menus (either heaven or hell), which is a nice feature which has a lot to do with the movie itself.
The extras include a nice commentary, a comprehensive photo gallery, a behind the scenes look, an alternate ending and some mind blowing explanations about the visual effects.
Bottom line - a good movie that tells a touching story with amazing visuals.
