Synopsis:
Royston Vasey: it may look like any other bleak town you`ve ever seen, but it`s the locals you have to worry about...

Tubbs and Edward. The Pig nosed propretors of the local shop who don`t like change, in fact they don`t even give change.

The Denton Family. They run an ordered home with no solids in the downstaris lavatory and regular lectures on self-abuse.

Geoff, Mike and Brian. They are local businessman and best friends, although Geoff hates Mike. He also hate Brian.

Pauline. The town`s monstrously unsympathetic Restart Officer for whom the unemployed are a sad waste of skin.

Barbara. A pre-op transsexual (with a voice deeper than Barry White) and the proprietor of Babs Cabs.

Les McQueen. He`s never got over the golden days of his band Creme Brulee - when he could walk into a urinal and heads would turn.

And that`s not the half of them....

Your Opinions and Comments

I`ve been looking forward to this. The surreal and very funny world of the League of Gentleman comes to DVD. This disk contains the entire first series as well as “Special Stuff” like sketches which didn’t make it to the screen and a history of the group. But the best feature is the lads themselves along with the director, discussing the series on the alternative soundtrack. Their comments and stories paint vividly the fun they had, their influences and the love and time that went into the show. Unfortunately this is marred by a so so picture transfer which suffers from some grain, a pity as the production deserves better. For the techies I have a Samsung 709 (Firmware 3.28) running component. Still its hard to knock this disk too much, as the series quality more than makes up for it.
