Your Opinions and Comments
It takes you on a journey through what it was like in the war
Not for the faint hearted...
The DVD does this justice you must really see this on the biggest screen you can with the loudest speakers. The movie is excellent and unlike Platoon and other numerous war films this movie puts you off.
The features are a little weak but with a movie that has been converted to DVD so brilliantly who needs extras!
Content:- Hmm. I am not intirely convinced by this film, but it is enjoyable thats for sure. The slight fact that there are no non-American allies in this film at all is a bit nippy, but I will let it pass for now. The battle at the start is very impressive, as is the one at the end. The actors do there bits quite well and it all fits together nicely. Enjoyable and worth the chunky viewing time.
Video:- Crisp and clear, but kinda wierd. The video has a very strange feel to it during some of the more hectic scenes. Its deliberate but still a bit wierd. A damn good transfer though.
Audio:- Fantastic! The start was very.......well LOUD! Bullets were all over the place and it was brilliant. The fight at the end was similarly great. I could `feel` the tanks approaching before I could hear them! Very nice.
Features:- A bit pants in this area. The wee featurette starts off ok but slowly fades into an ass-kissing slide show directed at Mr Spielberg. A bit crud. There isnt much else in the way of extras either. Nice menus though.
Overall:- Worth buying I would say, but dont take it too seriously. A good film to show off your home cinema kit with. Aye.
