A delight to read as people, one at a time, went missing in the sleepy small town of Lafferton. As the action proceeds the mind of a psychopath is slowly revealed (in a different typeface!) The pace helps to build the nature of the town and the lives of the main characters.
The concerns of local doctors about the increase in alternative therapies sustains a sense of mystery together with the detective sergeant newly arrived from London settles down to rebuilding her life and making new friends.
I felt that I wanted to buy the next in the Serrailler series to see what crimes the characters faced and how their lives developed.
I was hooked!
