Synopsis:
Ferdinand (Jean-Paul Belmondo) a young intellectual "in television" is married to a rich Italian, ensconced in a luxurious bourgeois existence and utterly dissatisfied with it. When the new babysitter for his young daughter turns out to be his former lover, Marianne (Anna Karina) he sees a chance to escape. In a flash he and Marianne are on the run, heading for the south of France. The couple become an existential 'Bonnie & Clyde' taking on gunrunners, gas station attendants, and American tourists as they come face to face with their own roles as characters in a pop culture landscape.
Light and lyrical whilst equally also dark and contemplative, Pierrot le fou has garnered a reputation as one of the most iconic films of the Nouvelle Vague of French cinema
