Bess Kargman's ballet documentary First Position is out on DVD this May

Another day, another documentary, not that this is a bad thing by any means, especially when they come from a label like Artificial Eye. Out on 27th May on DVD is First Position, produced by Bess Kargman.

With a runtime of 95 minutes and a PG rating, this carries a recommended retail price of £15.99.

Extras will include full length performances, training and rehearsal featurettes and a trailer.

The Youth America Grand Prix is one of the country’s most prestigious annual ballet competitions where entrants are offered the potential of scholarships, funding and future roles in dance companies.

Bess Kargman’s documentary follows six aspiring dancers, including children originally from Colombia and Sierra Leone, aged between 14 and 17, as they prepare to perform in front of the judges.
