Review for STM Bags Tracer Deluxe

6 / 10

Need a way of operating your smart phone when it’s cold and you’re wearing gloves? Don’t want to buy new gloves with “smart tip” technology? How about this handy pen, with two different coloured inks, a smartphone stylus and a SIM ejector and mini screwdriver?

Reviewing a pen is a bit tricky. So I’m not really going to be reviewing the pen, just the other bits. However, I will say that there does seem to be a bit of a design flaw in the pen part. When it’s been laying down on the desk for a while, it takes a few attempts to get the ink flowing when you want to start writing with it. This is a bit of a problem for a pen!

The other parts are great though. The “smart tip” worked every time, and was a novel way for interacting with a modern phone that has done away with the need for a stylus. Very handy if you’ve got gloves on, or if you’re eating your lunch and want to use your phone without getting your sandwich filling over it or pawing at it with greasy fingers.

Take the tip off, and you’ll also find a SIM ejector (could be handy, since the one that came with your phone is probably buried at the bottom of a drawer somewhere) and a tiny screwdriver which might be useful too. Just a shame that the pen part didn’t quite work as well as it should have done!
