Your Opinions and Comments

I've always had a soft spot for this TV movie made back in 1983.  The disc looks to be a straight port-over of the Region 1 release put out by CBS DVD in 2009.

Robert Vaughn and David McCallum reprise their roles as Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, with former rival Patrick Macnee standing in for the late Leo G Carroll as their superior.  Anthony Zerbe pre-dates his Bond villain as the villain of the piece and Disney regular Keenan Wynn appears as one of Zerbe's cohorts.

This movie effectively killed off plans that Hollywood pros and uberfans Danny Beiderman and Bob Short had to remake Man From U.N.C.L.E.  Unfortunately for them, Michael Sloan, a tv writer turned producer convinced MGM to licence the show to him rather than bankroll it as a studio.  The result, directed by old Avengers stalwart Ray Austin, owes a lot to the 1960s UNCLE movie The Karate Killers.
