ASUS Unveils New Innovations at Computex 2011

Products include Padfone, 3D tablet, stunning Ultra-slim notebook & new multimedia notebook

ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih has unveiled a host of exciting new products at Computex earlier this week, including a new Padfone, 3D tablet, Eee PCs, ultra-portable and multimedia notebooks, a new 27" all-in-one desktop alongside new ROG devices, graphics cards and motherboards.

Emphasising strengths in cutting edge design and engineering skill, ASUS have assigned the theme of "Break the Rules, Innovation Beyond Expectation" to the 2011 portfolio of products. "Breaking the rules and changing the status quo are the keys to our success, and we strive to offer customers and experience that surpasses their expectations" says Shih.

Computex's Best Choice Committee has once again awarded many ASUS products with coveted titles including Best Choice of the Year (for the Eee Pad Transformer) alongside the Best Choice Design, Best Choice Display & Digital Entertainment and Best Choice Green ICT.

ASUS Padfone

ASUS has offered a sneak preview of what will be one of the most exciting products to launch later this year. The Padfone will offer new possibilities for mobile computing and communication, thanks to a unique design which combines the best of the smartphone and tablet worlds into one device. Bringing a welcome end to data transfer hassles and the need for multi-SIM cards, the 4.3" smartphone docks inside the 10.1" tablet, charging from the battery and seamlessly integrating to share data and 3G internet access.

ASUS AMD 9 Series Motherboards

ASUS have revealed new AM3+ based motherboards with digital power design and UEFI BIOS features never before offered on the AMD platform, and the first to be fully compatible with AM3+ and to support both multi-GPU technologies AMD CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI.

The M5A99/97 series feature the ASUS-exclusive DIP (dual intelligent processors), comprised of the Turbo Processor Unit (TPU) and Energy Processor Unit (EPU) - praised as the 'best power management technology' by worldwide media. Premium models also feature UEFI BIOS and second generation DIP with DIGI+VRM (digital power design) - a first for AMD-based motherboards.

The TUF SABERTOOTH 990FX is the first AMD-based system in the TUF series. This new addition features the use of CeraM!X, an exclusive aerospace-grade cooling material with a 50% larger cooling area to effectively conduct heat away from vital components. With a host of features to monitor and tweak the fan speeds, the TUF SABERTOOTH 990FX is an extreme motherboard able to resist the most stressed conditions for a reliable, robust and stable system.

ASUS Awarded Recognition by Computex Best Choice Committee

ASUS continue to invest resources into research and development to provide products which demonstrate reliability, quality, performance and environmental responsibility - a forward thinking approach leading to sustainable growth. This commitment has been recognised and awarded by the Computex Best Choice Committee, with several accolades being presented to new and existing products.

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer took the prestigious title of Best Choice of the Year and also Best Choice Design.

The Best Choice Display and Digital Entertainment Award was won by the O!Play Gallery Media Player, which enables HD multimedia to be streamed on a single, easy-to-use device. With USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbs transfer, and 3.5" HDD and ipod/iphone compatibility, the O!Play Gallery Media Player impresses with the ease and wealth of access to online services.

Two products were awarded the Best Choice Green ICT awards. The VVW247H-HF LED 24" monitor is the world's first halogen-free PC display. Using 65% less power than Energy Star 5.0 standards and eliminating long list of hazardous products, it boasts a high degree of recyclability alongside superior image clarity and crispness. The Bamboo Collection U43SD is rewarded for the extensive use of bamboo - a rapidly replenished material - and its reduction of plastic by 15%. The packaging is made from recyclable bamboo pulp, winning it the iF Communication Design award in 2010. Second generation Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce graphics show that eco-friendliness does not need to compromise performance, and as bamboo matures it changes appearance, giving each user a unique style.
