Review for UFC 126 - Silva vs. Belfort
UFC 126 was an awesome PPV and the reason is simple: Anderson Silva. Sometimes I watch a UFC event for a fighter and if Silva is on the card, that is one I will pay attention to. He is simply one of the best fighters I have ever seen and every fight feels like it is better than the last. Very few can say that. At this event he proved why I think this and his fight against Vitor Belfort was amazing.
Sometimes I diss UFC for having short matches, but this was like watching someone who is so good that the other guy never had a chance.
What I loved about this PPV was that many of the matches were also pretty good too and with such an array of International stars it felt more like the old days of UFC when it really was meant as a 'Best of the World' type of event. What was even more surprising is that Silva vs. Belfort wasn't even the best match of the night. That was between USA's Donald Cerrone and our very own Paul Kelly. What was surprising is that the fight was not even on the main card and so if you are one of those UFC fans who skips passed the preliminary bouts to the main events, then maybe you should watch this PPV in full and it may change your mind.
The DVD includes all eleven fights including the fight between Norifumi Yamamoto and Demetrious Johnson which was actually streamed over Facebook on the night and I'm surprised a featurette concerning this and what it could mean for future events is not included. Behind the scenes footage, interviews and more is included and is actually pretty interesting, though it is doubtful how many times you will watch this.
UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort is a great PPV, probably one of the best rounded UFC PPvs that I have seen. If you saw it originally then you will know how good this was, but if you didn't you should experience just how good UFC can be.
