Anime on Demand Start Streaming Nichijou
Anime on Demand last week started streaming what looks like the final piece of their Spring line-up, the slice of life gentle comedy, Nichijou. They aim to put a new episode up every week on Monday, although no mention has been made yet of catching up to the Japanese broadcasts. It's notable that Crunchyroll is already some 10 episodes ahead.

Can you believe that it's been a year and more since the first of the Evangelion rebuild movies was released in the UK? I've now got a check disc for Evangelion 2.22 on my review pile, and a stern reminder about deadlines too. The problem was that I had completely forgotten how the story began. Actually that's nonsense. I have no need for an excuse to watch Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone again. But this time I'm watching it on Blu-ray. Young teenage introvert dropout Shinji is called upon once more to defend the world from the terror of the Angels, piloting a giant robot called the Evangelion. Higher definition picture and sound here I come!
It's been a long while since I was enthusiastic about Bleach. It's a typical long running action show, aimed at young males, with an extensive cast, jargon and quirks unique to its particular universe, and lots of one-on-one battles with powering up, doing ones best, and succeeding through superior willpower. It's pretty typical in that respect, but the second and third series spent a lot of time with its characters running around with big swords, having even bigger battles, while the fourth and fifth series were chock a bloc with soul-sapping filler. The wit, smarts, and energetic originality of Season 1 were a distant memory, until Season 6 started. These past few episodes I've been reminded of what I liked Bleach for in the first place, and Bleach: Season 6 Part 2 may just be the best of the series so far.
Manga Entertainment released Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone on DVD and Blu-ray last year, while they will release Bleach: Season 6 Part 2 next Monday, 13th June.
