Review of While You Were Sleeping
Video
While You Were Sleeping is presented in 1.85:1, and divided into 21 chapters. The quality of the picture was good as expected, being bright and sharp. Contrast was high, and colours were vivid.
Audio
The sound is Dolby Digital 2.0 or ProLogic, with no 5.1 track. Although this is not a major concern, given that the film is a romantic comedy rather than a dazzling, special effects filled Hollywood blockbuster.
Features
The only extra available on this disc is the original theatrical trailer. Menus are static.
Conclusion
This is a gentle, easy going romantic comedy which will appeal to many. Sandra Bullock plays the lonely railway worker who saves the life of a man she fancies, who then remains in a coma for some time. His family mistake her for his finance, and to make matters worse, she falls for his brother!
The DVD presentation is good, but extras are limited. Maybe they will do a Special Edition version like Sleepless in Seattle or City of Angels, which loads of extras crammed in.
