The final film in Rossellini's acclaimed War Trilogy comes to UK DVD, exclusively from MovieMail

MovieMail, the UK's leading quality DVD and Blu-ray retailer, is delighted to announce the exclusive release of Germany Year Zero, available for the first time ever on UK DVD from May 5th 2010.

`I see this film as a prayer from Rossellini to the postwar world, a prayer for compassion.' Martin Scorsese

Completing the `war trilogy' that Roberto Rossellini started with Rome, Open City (1945) and Paisà (1946), this is one of the masterpieces of neo-realism. Set in a divided Germany it unflinchingly depicts the dehumanising impact of defeat on a guilt-ridden nation. Its a harrowing study of social disintegration held together by an exceptional performance by 12 year-old Edmund Moeschke.

I dont know why but the press release (via email) has a picture of Jacques Tati's 1971 film Trafic and not Germany, Year Zero.
