Virgin Media premieres the UK's first 200Mb broadband demo
Home of the Future to host the nation's fastest broadband at the Ideal Home Show 2010

Virgin Media, provider of the country's fastest nationwide broadband service, will demonstrate to the public for the very first time its forthcoming 200Mb broadband service at this year's Ideal Home Show 2010.

Virgin Media is the sponsor of the Ideal Home of the Future at the Ideal Home Show 2010 at Earl's Court, London from 20 March until 5 April. Along with demonstrating its ultrafast broadband products, including 200Mb, Virgin Media will also be showing the UK's most advanced TV service and giving a sneak preview of how home entertainment will become an integral part of UK homes - and lives - in the future.

200Mb is an exciting ultrafast broadband service which has been trialling in Kent since summer 2009, with additional trials just starting in Coventry. The service is unlike anything the public has seen before, and Virgin Media is proud to be showcasing it at this year's Ideal Home Show to give Brits a taste of what's to come. Virgin Media's 200Mb broadband will allow consumers to download a music album in just 3 seconds, an hour long TV show in 16 seconds and a high definition movie in just 3 minutes 42 seconds.

Ashley Stockwell, executive director, brand and marketing at Virgin Media said, "Ultrafast broadband like our 200Mb service, will enable a whole household to enjoy cutting edge entertainment, not just via computers, but through an array of gadgets all over the home. By pushing the boundaries of broadband in the UK we hope to drive a change in the way Brits enjoy and experience digital entertainment and exciting new services."

Virgin Media is the UK's leading entertainment and communications company and the first to offer broadband, TV, phone and mobile services all from one place; it is also the home of ultrafast 50Mb fibre optic broadband, bringing the future of media to the home before anyone else.

Following popular demonstrations in its London stores, Virgin Media will also be showcasing a wide range of 3DTV content at the Ideal Home Show - giving a sneak preview of what Brits can expect on their TV screens soon. With demonstrations using the very latest Sony BRAVIA 3D televisions - the HX903 model which is 3D ready - visitors to the show will be able to see for themselves the next step in television evolution. The Ideal Home of the Future presentation will also give a taster of the types of exciting new services Virgin Media is planning to offer, including its next generation TV service using TiVo, as well as the option to move content from TV screens, to computer screens and even to mobile phones.
