Trinity Blood Boxset Compo Winners!
I'd like to thank everyone who entered our Trinity Blood Boxset Competition. The competition has now closed, and our hardworking random number generator has after much thought and calculation selected two winners. The lucky recipients of a pristine package will be…
Mick Millard, Oxford
David Thomas, Birmingham
Congratulations to you both! Keep an eye out for further anime competitions in the future.
Incidentally, the correct answer was Methuselah.
A tendency to Gravitate…
We have more anime clips for you to enjoy, and a PR release for me to cut and paste…
THE ORIGINAL TWO-PART OVA THAT SPAWNED THE HIT SERIES
Based on the popular 'yaoi' (gay-themed romances created by women for primarily female audiences) manga by Maki Murakami (Gamerz Heaven), the original two-part OVA (original video animation), GRAVITATION: LYRICS OF LOVE, comes to DVD in April and introduces Shuichi Shindou and his band, Bad Luck, along with the object of Shuichi's desire, the charismatic novelist, Eiri Yuki.
Directed by Shinichi Watanabe (Lupin III: Da Cap Of Love - Fujiko's Unlucky Days; Tenchi Muyo! GXP), this two-part comedy-romance predates the hit 13-part anime series (also available on DVD from MVM) and, although aimed fairly and squarely at fans of Murakami's manga, is a must-see for fans of the adventures of Shuichi and Yuki.
Bad Luck's lead singer and lyricist, Shuichi Shindo, is a total wreck. With the completion deadline for the band's next album looming the pressure is on, but the normally energetic Shuichi has become listless and is suffering from writer's block. It's all because Yuki, the great love of his life, has suddenly become cold and distant towards him. Depressed and anxious, Shuichi doesn't want to think about writing lyrics, he just wants to know how to get Yuki to talk to him again.
Now, thanks to Shuichi and his big mouth bragging to the press how talented he is, the band can't even hire someone else to write the lyrics for them. If they don't manage to break Shuichi out of his slump soon, it could mean the end of Bad Luck for good.
GRAVITATION: LYRICS OF LOVE OVA (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (£15.99) by MVM on 6th April 2009.
