Award-Winning Behind Forgotten Eyes Available On DVD
After two years of international film festivals, worldwide screenings, and multiple broadcasts on the History Channel Asia and MBC Korea, Producer Alex Ferrari (www.alexferrari.com) and Nameless Films' Anthony Gilmore's Behind Forgotten Eyes is now available on DVD. Narrated by Yun-Jin Kim (ABC's Lost), the feature length documentary examines sexual slavery cultivated by the Japanese during WWII and the plight of the now elderly South Korean survivors. Accounts from both former South Korean sex slaves and former Japanese soldiers give the film a dramatic charge that is captivating and thought provoking.
As the first film to direct the issue towards Western audiences, Behind Forgotten Eyes hit festivals early fall of 2006 and instantly received rave reviews. During its course on the festival circuit, it won multiple awards, including winning the BEST DOCUMENTARY AWARD at the Hamptons International Film Festival, Little Rock Film Festival, and Tiburon International Film Festival. Behind Forgotten Eyes has also screened at prestigious festivals such as Amnesty International Film Festival and the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival.
"This is an issue that I've found not many Americans are aware exists," says the film's director/producer Anthony Gilmore. "I felt it was important for us to tell this storyand not only one aspect of itbut from all aspects, including those who claim that it never happened."
