New Deacon Blue 'Live' CD, DVD & Tour

If a band can claim squatters' rights, then Deacon Blue can take ownership of the charts. Their first album Raintown set the precedent, spending 77 weeks in the album chart, and with five top 5 UK albums (of which two were number 1) under their belts they have chalked up an impressive 4 years in the British album charts. Their seventeen top 40 singles resided in the chart for more than 2 years. On the 3rd of November P3 Music releases the new Deacon Blue CD 'Live' with bonus DVD featuring some of their biggest hits including Dignity, Real Gone Kid, Chocolate Girl and Wages Day. Recorded and filmed during their sell-out 2007 tour of Europe the CD & DVD will be released in advance of their Christmas 2008 UK tour dates.

Like many artists of quality, Deacon Blue's success did not come overnight. A commitment to live performance built a solid fan base, and despite the fact that the first release of Raintown was met with critical rather than commercial success, a re-release following extensive touring, meant the album spent 77 weeks on the UK chart. Raintown was the first of five top five albums, with Dignity the first of 18 top 40 singles. Six million album sales were the backbone of Deacon Blue's lasting success and now they remain one of the most popular touring bands, with tickets for live performances rarely available for long.
